License Renewal

Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses

Veterinary licenses expire on July 31 of even years (e.g., 2010, 2012).

Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.

Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you.  To check and update your contact information online, click here.

For information on Veterinarian continuing education (CE) requirements, refer to Section 9.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations. For Veterinary Technician CE, see Section 14.0.

To renew an active license, you will need to provide information about your CE.

To renew an inactive license, you are not required to complete any CE.

How to Renew a Lapsed License

If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will lapse. It is illegal to practice while your license is lapsed.

You may renew an expired license for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online and paying a late fee. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one year, you must file an application to reinstate.
