Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation: Board of Clinical Social Work Examiners

License Renewal

Licenses expire in January of odd years (e.g., 2007, 2009).

Effective with your 2007 renewal, the Division of Professional Regulation offers online renewal with the use of a major credit card. You will receive a notice to advise you when your renewal application is available for submission online. This will be your only renewal notice. The notice will explain how to access online renewal and how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.

You will be asked to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE) in accordance with Section 7.0 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations. Please note that CE reporting forms are no longer required. However, a percentage of licensees will be randomly selected for audit of their CE following the renewal.

Note: Please do not send any CE reporting forms or other documentation to the Board office unless you are requested to do so. Also, do not send any payment if you renew online.

You will not be able to renew an inactive license online. Contact the board office for instructions on renewing an inactive status or how to return to active status.

How to Renew a Lapsed License

You may renew a license late for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online and paying a late fee. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one year, you must reapply as a new applicant or by reciprocity.
