HOW APPLY AS A REAL PROPERTY APPRAISER BY RECIPROCITY


If you currently hold an active real estate appraiser license in another state, you can apply for a Delaware real estate appraiser license through reciprocity. If you do not hold an active license in another state, see Licensure Requirements for licensed or certified appraiser.

Submit the following items directly to the Council on Real Estate Appraisers ("the Council") office at the following address:

  • Completed, signed and notarized Reciprocity Application for Licensed or Certified Real Property Appraiser.
  • Pro-rated processing fee. Make check or money order payable to the "State of Delaware." This processing fee is non-refundable.
  • Letter of good standing or verification letter sent directly to the Council office from each state in which you are now, or have ever been, a licensed or certified real estate appraiser.
A Federal Registry fee is due prior to the issuance of a license. If your license is approved between November 1st of odd years and October 31st of even years, the fee is $50.00. If your license is approved between November 1st of even years and October 31st of odd years, the fee is $25.00. This fee is in addition to the processing fee. Make check or money order payable to the "State of Delaware."
