Information about All Renewals
Licenses expire on October 31 st of odd years (e.g., 2007, 2009).
Effective with your 2007 renewal, the Division of Professional Regulation offers online renewal with the use of a major credit card. You will receive a notice to advise you when your renewal application is available for submission online. This will be your only renewal notice. The notice will explain how to access online renewal and how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.
How to Renew an Active License
To renew a license in Active status, you submit a renewal application, pay the renewal fee and attest to completing the required continuing education (CE). For more information about CE, see Section 2.3.1 of the Board's Rules and Regulations. After the renewal, a percentage of licensees will be randomly selected for audit of their CE.
Note: Please do not send any CE logs or other documentation to the Board office unless you are requested to do so. Also, do not send any payment if you renew online.
How to Renew an Expired License
When your license expires, you are not allowed to practice.
You may renew an expired license within 12 months of its expiration date by submitting a renewal application, paying the renewal fee and a late fee, and attesting to completion of the required CE.
If you fail to renew within the 12-month period and wish to resume practicing, you must reapply as a new applicant. See Section 2.2.3 of the Council’s Rules and Regulations.
How to Reactivate an Inactive License
You are not permitted to perform appraisals in Delaware while your license is in Inactive status. To place your license in Inactive status, submit a written request to the Council. Your license may remain in Inactive status for up to six years.
To reactivate your license to Active status so that you can practice in Delaware, you must notify the Council in writing and pay a prorated fee. (See Fee Schedule.) In addition, you are required to complete the same continuing education as active licensees or certificate holders during each two-year renewal period. See 24 Del. C. § 4013(e).
You cannot reactivate an Inactive license online.
