Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses
Plumbing/HVACR licenses expire on October 31 of even years (e.g., 2010, 2012).
Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.
Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you. To check and update your contact information online, click here.
How to Request Inactive Status and Reactivate
If you are not actively practicing in Delaware, you may submit a written request to place your license on inactive status.
To reactivate an inactive Plumber license, see 24 Del. C. §1812(d). To reactivate an HVACR license, see 24 Del. C. §1825(d).
How to Renew a Lapsed License
If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice while your license is expired.
You may renew an expired license for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online and paying a late fee. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one year, you must reapply as a new applicant or by reciprocity.
