HVACR License by Reciprocity

How to Apply for HVACR Licensure by Reciprocity

To apply for licensure by reciprocity, all applicants must submit:

  • Completed, signed and notarized application form
  • Pro-rated processing fee by check or money order made payable to “State of Delaware.”
  • Verification of licensure in good standing from each state in which the applicant is (or has ever been) licensed, sent directly to the Board office from each state.
  • Copy of the other jurisdiction's licensing laws and regulations.

If the licensure requirements of the state(s) in which the applicant is licensed are substantially similar to those of Delaware, no further documentation is required.

If the requirements are not substantially similar, the applicant must also submit an Affidavit of Employment form to verify seven years of supervised experience after licensure in the other state. Contact the Board office for more information.
