Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses
Landscape Architect licenses and Certificates of Authorization licenses expire on January 31 of odd years (e.g., 2015, 2017).
Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee.
Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you. To check and update your contact information online, click Change Contact Information.
Renewing Active Landscape Architect Licenses
To renew an active license, you will need to provide information about your continuing education (CE) and seal. For information on CE requirements, see Section 7.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations.
Renewing Inactive Landscape Architect Licenses
If you are not practicing in Delaware, you may submit a written request to place your license on inactive status. You are not allowed to practice in Delaware while your license is on inactive status.
To maintain your license in inactive status, you must renew it. No CE is required.
If you wish to resume practicing in Delaware, you must reactivate your license. See Section 8.0 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.
Renewing Certificates of Authorization
In addition to completing the online renewal application, you must submit a Verification of Landscape Architect in Charge Information form to update information on the management of the business. The form will be enclosed with the renewal notice and also available online.
Renewing Expired Licenses
If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice while your Landscape Architect license is expired. It is also illegal to offer landscape architecture services in Delaware while your Certificate of Authorization is expired.
To resume practicing or offering landscape architecture services in Delaware, you must renew your license. You may submit a late renewal application for a period of 60 days after the expiration date. A late fee is payable in addition to the renewal fee. Even though you have 60 days to submit a late renewal application, this period is not a "grace period." Do not resume offering landscape architecture services in Delaware until the license is actually renewed.
When the license has been expired for 60 days, it will terminate. To resume practicing landscape architecture in Delaware, you must reapply for licensure.
