BOARD FUNCTION:
The Board of Geology (hereafter designated as "the Board") protects the
general public by ensuring that geological services are provided by licensed
professionals. The Board regulates this profession by formulating rules and
regulations, creating the application form for licensing purposes; processing
all applications; designating the written, standardized examination; establishing
minimum education, training and experience requirements for licensure as geologists;
evaluating the credentials of applicants; granting licenses; renewing licenses; refering
written complaints from the licensees/public to the Division of Professional Regulation
Investigative Unit for investigation; conducting hearings, and determining after a hearing
what penalties or sanctions should be imposed. (24 Del. C., Chapter 36, § 3601-3623)
FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS:
The Delaware Board of Geologists meets the first Friday of each month at 10:00 a.m. except for January and July.
All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, Dover, Delaware.
To assure consideration of your license application at the next meeting, the Board office must receive all of these items no later than 4:30 PM ten full working days before the meeting date:
- Completed, signed and notarized application form
- Fee payment, and
- All required supporting documentation (see “License Requirements” on the menu to your left).
