Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses
Funeral licenses expire on August 31 of even years (e.g., 2016, 2018).
Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee.
Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you. To check and update your contact information online, click Change Contact Information.
Renewing an Active License: Funeral Directors
Note: Funeral Director Limited licenses do not have a CE requirement.
Renewing a Funeral Establishment License
You must provide information about the establishment's mailing and location addresses, managing funeral director, and ownership.
Renewing a Lapsed License
If you do not complete renewal by the expiration date, your license will lapse. It is illegal to practice as a Funeral Director in Delaware or to operate a Funeral Establishment in Delaware while your license is lapsed.
You may file a late renewal application for up to one year after the expiration date. You must pay a late fee in addition to the renewal fee. Even though you can file a late renewal application, it is illegal to practice or to operate an establishment in Delaware until the license is actually renewed. The late period is not a "grace period."
