Deadline for Passing Exams
Delaware law limits how long you have after applying to pass both exams.
If you fail to pass both exams within the two-year period, you will not be allowed to re-take the exam(s) you failed. Instead, you must wait one year from the date of the last exam, then reapply and meet all requirements for licensure, including repeating all educational requirements and re-taking and passing both parts of the exam.
- If you applied for a Delaware license by examination before July 1, 2011, you have until July 1, 2013 to pass both the theory and practical examinations.
- If you applied for a Delaware license by examination after July 1, 2011, you have two years from the date of your application to pass both exams.
