New License


APPLYING FOR A NEW LICENSE

An individual seeking to apply for a certificate of registration as a Delaware Architect may apply for initial registration or by reciprocity.

An applicant who is applying for an initial registration must have the following qualifications:

  1. The applicant must hold a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited professional degree in architecture.
  1. The applicant must have completed a minimum of three years of practical training in architectural work. All individuals applying after March 15, 1994 are required to submit evidence of the completion of the Intern Development Program (IDP) as more fully described by the Board's rules and regulations.
  1. The applicant must have taken and passed the Architect Registration Examination.
  1. Submit a completed notarized application along with the appropriate pro-rated processing fee. Check or money order must be made payable to the "State of Delaware."
  1. An applicant may be refused registration by the Board if he/she has been convicted of a felony; misstated or misrepresented a fact in connection with an application; been found guilty of a violation of any requirements for business and professional conduct that is required of architects as set forth in statutes or regulations; or practiced architecture without being registered. Applicants must submit a notarized affidavit demonstrating that they comply with the above requirements pursuant to 24 Del. C., § 307(c).
