Information About Renewal Applications
Architect licenses and Certificates of Authorization expire on July 31 of odd years (e.g., 2011, 2013).
Several weeks before the expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on the record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay the renewal fee.
Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you. To check and update your contact information online, click here.
Renewing Architect Licenses
To renew an active Architect license, you must complete the required continuing education (CE). For information on the CE requirements, see Section 6.2 of the Board's Rules and Regulations.
Renewing Certificates of Authorization
To renew a Certificate of Authorization, you must provide information about the mailing and location addresses, designated responsible architect in charge, and ownership of the business.
How to Renew an Expired License or Certificate of Authorization
If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice architecture while your license is expired.
You may apply to renew an expired license or certificate for a period of six months after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online and paying a late fee. Although you have six months to file a late renewal application, it is illegal to practice architecture until your license or certificate is actually renewed. This period is not a “grace period.”
If an Architect license has been lapsed for more than six months, you must reapply and pay a reapplication fee. As you will be issued a new license number, you will be required to obtain a new seal. |
