NEW LEGISLATION: Governor Markell signed Senate Bill 179 into law on July 16, 2009. This law requires adult-oriented retail businesses, as defined under 24 Del. C. §1602 (3), to obtain a license from the Commission. Forms and other information to implement this law are being developed. To view the new legislation, click here .
COMMISSION FUNCTION: The Commission on Adult Entertainment Establishments (hereafter designated as "the Commission") regulates the licensing and operation of licensed adult entertainment establishments and adult-oriented retail businesses in Delaware. The Commission formulates rules and regulations; reviews all applications for licensure; maintains license records of all said license holders and establishment; refers written complaints from the public to the Division of Professional Regulation Investigative Unit for investigation; conducts hearings when charges are brought against a licensed individual or business; and imposes, after a hearing, penalties or sanctions for violations of the Commission's laws. FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS: The Commission meets on a quarterly basis or as needed. The meetings are open to the public and are held in the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, Dover, Delaware |
